Earlier this year, El Chapo Guzman, also formally known as " The most dangerous man in Mexico " was captured by Mexican federal police. This arrest was huge because El Chapo has not only been wanted in Mexico since his escape but as well in america. He has currently 23 charges facing towards him in the United States in over 35 sates. He is also facing eight active criminal cases in mexico. Now the capture of the notorious drug leader of the Sinaloa cartel has been causing uneasy tension in between the Mexican and the U.S authorities. Since the capture of Vincete Zambada Niebla, a sinaloa Drug Trafficker,he was released to the U.S in regards to help find El Chapo. Though he did help find El chapo, and is cooperating with the U.S authorities, this case showcased the difference between how the U.S handles drug trade versus how Mexico handles it.
The tension all lies in the fact that the judicial system of mexico is a lot worse than the judicial system in the u.S and because of this, shows the corruption that lies within the judicial system. this is why the Mexican authorities will not release El Chao to the U.S even if he has federal charges that he is currently facing. due to the inferior feeling, nieto passed a law stating that a Mexican citizen who has committed crime in both the U.S and in Mexico, must first serve his time in his native land before being released or sent to jail in the U.S. Hoping this plan would create a framework that Mexico aint no bitch. But this law did piss off the u.S in a sense that they cant get much information out of the newest drug leaders that have been arrested, so they have to resort to the old ones which eventually lead them nowhere. its causing trouble as well because the U.S and Mexico find a part in their union. Overall, mexico doesn't want to feel like a lesser person since they gave up a lot of land to the U.S after the Mexican-American War. they also don't want to play big brother and little brother since Mexico always seems to be so dependent on the U.S. Where will this lead, no one knows?
